Accounts Assistant


An Accounts Assistant will assist a Finance Manager or Controller in the completion of daily finance tasks.


The role typically relies on administrative skills as accounting knowledge

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks;

  • Matching, batching and coding of invoices
  • Processing financial payments
  • Reconciliation of the bank accounts
  • Dealing with customer account related queries
  • Raising of invoices
  • Processing of employee expenses
  • Processing of financial data on to accounting software

Qualifications and Experience:

In some instances an Accounts Assistant role can be an Entry level position, generally some prior experience of administration or invoicing is considered beneficial as well as an interest in working in an accounting function.

Candidates studying towards their AAT qualification would be well qualified to undertake an Accounts Assistant role.
