Assistant Accountant


An Assistant Accountant will work within the finance function supporting the preparation of monthly accounts productions through the delivery of accurate financial records. Assisting in analysing financial transactions and producing reports you will have experience of double entry booking and maintaining and profit and loss account for the company.


Duties of an Assistant Accountant can include;

  • Maintaining accurate financial ledgers
  • Completing financial reports and communicating to budget holders
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Updating the profit and loss account
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Reporting debtors and creditors
  • Handling of accruals and prepayments
  • Managing monthly budgeting tasks
  • Using MS Excel to produce reports and analyse financial data

Skills and Experience

Generally AAT qualified and studying towards the early stages of ACCA or CIMA. With prior experience of maintaining a balance sheet and possessing strong Bookkeeping knowledge. Understanding of budgeting and month end tasks.
