Purchasing Assistant – Full Time – Permanent – Office Based

We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to assist the Head of Purchasing. Your will look to maximise profitability by delivering an effective service to the business as part of the buying team.  

What We Are Looking For In Purchasing Assistant

  • Purchase goods or services in line with required cost, quality and delivery targets
  • Purchase Order creation and submission
  • Update Purchase Orders post supplier confirmation
  • Assist in the approval process of new suppliers.
  • Maintain supplier information to ensure credentials are current and relevant.
  • Assisting in vendor development
  • Assisting in management of logistical functions
  • Cross functional coordination with other departments and outside business communities
  • Support Purchasing function with continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience in a similar buyer or purchasing role is desirable.
  • Excellent numeracy and organisational skills. 
  • You must be able to work under pressure and adopt a proactive approach to administrative tasks.

Due to the location of this client, you will require your own transport as there are not regular connections to public transport. They are easily accessible from Southampton, Eastleigh and Romsey.
